Transitional Housing and Support Services

This program helps victims of intimate partner violence and human trafficking access safe and affordable housing.

Finding housing in the best of circumstances is complex, time-consuming, and often fraught with complex bureaucratic procedures. When people are dealing with trauma, even simple tasks seem overwhelming and navigating safe affordable housing can often feel insurmountable for victims and survivors. At VSOP, the housing worker supports the client in finding safe and affordable housing, provides assistance in filling out all the required forms, as well as gathers and organizes documents. The housing
worker also advocates with landlords on behalf of victims to ensure their housing
needs are met. This program works collaboratively with PATH (Peel Access To
Housing) to ensure urgent housing needs including housing transfers are
addressed. Once housing has been secured for victims the Transitional Housing
Support Worker helps with life skills such as budgeting to ensure clients have the
skills they need to live their lives free from violence.

Our Crisis Line is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
